Our volunteers run courses and meetings for medical professionals throughout the UK and Ireland. All profits raised are donated to Eyehope.

Trends in Ophthalmology – next meeting Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th February 2011
- An annual two-day meeting now in its 35th year
- Speakers from all over the UK present the latest advances in Ophthalmology for the most topical subjects
- Attended by 200 delegates and speakers: consultants, associate specialists, SPRs and staff grades
- The latest technology and drug treatments are featured by exhibiting companies
- A central London venue is provided by The Royal Society – an amazing building steeped in history, with facilities and food to match
VR in a Day – next meeting Friday 25th February 2011 at St Thomas’ Hospital
- An annual one-day course in its 10th year
- Eyehope runs the course bi-annually when it will benefit from the profits raised. Moorfields runs the course on the intervening years.
- Speakers provide an up-to-date overview of Vitreo Retinal and allied problems
- Attended by ophthalmologists of all grades, nurses and optometrists
- Presentations are only 8 minutes long, with supporting evidence (often on film)
- Programme allows for ample discussion time, even with 27 presentations
- This format has proved extremely popular with excellent delegate feedback
Southern Ophthalmological Society Meeting – next meeting December 2010 at St Thomas’ Hospital
- An annual meeting of case presentations followed by a guest lecture (in December 2009 this was given by Mr R. Aggarwal FRCS FRCOphth, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Southend University Hospital)
- The programme covers complex and interesting clinical cases followed by lengthy discussions
- Sub-specialist teaching is provided at consultant level, allowing for second opinions on complex cases
- Attended by 60 delegates including 30 consultants from S.E.England
Regional Study Days – next meeting to be confirmed
- The most recent meeting in March 2010 was a Vitreoretinal Regional Study Day
- An all-day symposium on advanced medical and surgical techniques
- Attended by 85 delegates including trainee ophthalmologists and consultants from the regional area
